Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

 

R.C.I.A. is for and about people who are involved in a process of conversion. Individuals who have been baptized and desire to be in full communion with the Catholic Church are invited to begin that process by calling Chris at 985-2351, ext. 130 to learn what participation in the R.C.I.A. process will look like.

R.C.I.A. Sponsors are Needed

 

Purpose:

Support adults who are interested in joining the Catholic Church and are part of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults process

 

Responsibilities:

Interview with Adult Faith Formation Director

Attend weekly RCIA sessions, September through April

Communicate regularly with the candidate or catechumen

 

Time Involved:

Weekly Sunday morning sessions from 9:00-10:15 am from September through April

One or two diocesan gatherings

 

Qualifications:

Confirmed, practicing Catholic, parishioner

Good listener

It is not necessary to be an expert in theology

 

Commitment:

One year

Inquiry is the beginning of a journey. It is the first step in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Inquiry is a time and place for discernment of God’s call in the context of the Christian Catholic Community. If you are interested in beginning that journey, please feel free to call Chris at 985-2351, ext. 130.

2008-2009 RE Registration

Students in Grades 1-8

 

Packets with 2008-2009 Registration information have been mailed to all families presently in our program. If you have not received this information, please call the Religious Education Office at 630.985.2351, ext. 130 and we will get another one to you. Remember the sooner we receive your forms in our office the better chance of getting your choice of class time.

If you are new to the parish or will be enrolling your child in our Program for the first time, please call the Religious Education Office at 630.985.2351 ext. 130 to request this information.

Pre-school 4 & 5 year olds

and Kindergarteners

 

Our pre-school/kindergarten class for Sunday mornings are new ready to start forming. The class will run from 9:00—9:50 am, starting mid-September through April. We will be teaching simple prayers, bible stories and songs, learning about the church and our love for Jesus. The fee will be $45 per child for the school year. If you have a child that would enjoy our class, please call Jeannine Baran at 630.719.9648 with your name, address and phone number. Please also include your child’s name and age. Children must be 4 or 5 years old by September 1, 2008. Messages can be left on the answering machine.

Also, teachers will be needed for this class. What a wonderful treat for the young children of  our parish to have a caring, giving, and thoughtful individual willing to give an hour or so each Sunday for a teaching experience that is guaranteed to leave you with a smile. Interpreters for the Deaf Needed

 

We would like to provide an interpretor for the deaf at several of our Masses this year. If you are able to translate the Mass for the deaf or if you know of someone with that skill, please contact Chris Hannigan-Wiehn at 630.985.9255, ext. 130 or stscholadulted@aol.com.
